The countdown until the Chicago Bears take the field again is on. As we wait until then, we are counting down the roster to see which players are most likely to make the team, and which players will have the biggest impact on games.

We have just gotten into the top 70, and today we look at number 69, Michael Ojemudia.

Chicago Bears 2023 roster ranking: No. 69 Michael Ojemudia

Michael Ojemudia was a former third-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft. His play, combined with the changes in the front office and coaching staff led to him struggling to establish himself. Ojemudia started and played 852 snaps as a rookie, but things went poorly.

Ojemudia missed almost the entire 2021 season with an injury and then spent most of the year on the bench in 2022 before he was waived late in the year. At that point, the Chicago Bears were looking for anyone to stick to their roster, and they signed Ojemudia.

Ojemudia has talent and was able to start as a rookie. Things went downhill, but he still will be 26 years this season. This could be a nice spot for him to rehabilitate his career and get back on the field.

At the same time, the Chicago Bears depth chart is much deeper right now than it was when he signed with the team back in December of 2022. The Bears drafted both Tyrique Stevenson and Terrel Smith since then. If they added just one or the other, it may not be a huge deal, but adding both makes it hard to see him on the roster.

Beyond that, both Jaylon Jones and Josh Blackwell performed last season as rookies. They are just UDFAs and mostly played because the depth chart was so thin. Still, they have to enter training camp over Michael Ojemudia in this roster ranking.

Ojemudia has enough talent and potential to get inside the top 70, but the depth chart is not in his favor, and that is as far as he can get there. So, he will settle in at number 69.
