We do not have very much to discuss regarding the current roster at the moment. This is a very slow time of the year. Ryan Poles hasn't made any free-agent moves lately and the Chicago Bears do not start training camp until July 27. In the meantime, let's take a look at a recent first-round mock draft ESPN published recently. I couldn't help but wonder if this mock draft is a perfect outcome for the Bears.

Alright, perfect might be a stretch. If we are being honest with ourselves, the perfect outcome would be the Carolina Panthers finishing the 2023 season with the worst record in the NFL Since the Panthers traded that pick to the Chicago Bears to move up from nine to one in this year's draft, it would mean the Bears have the first pick in the draft once again. Only this time, that pick will likely be even more valuable. Caleb Williams is currently the top prospect heading into the 2023 NCAA season and would have been picked over Bryce Young in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Chicago Bears could end up with another great draft in 2024

If the Bears were to end up with that pick, they'd receive even more than what they received from the Panthers. If Justin Fields fails to progress this year, it could also mean that they end up with Caleb Williams himself. Either way, that is likely the perfect outcome. That said, I don't think it is very realistic, and ESPN agrees based on how they project the teams finishing the 2023 season.
