With one final game remaining on the Chicago Bears 2024 preseason schedule, the focus is now on the team's 53-man roster.

With cuts expected to begin this weekend, we take another look at the projected roster.

Quarterback (2) - Caleb Williams, Tyson Bagent

Tyson Bagent locked down the backup job with a solid performance against the Bengals' defense. The Bears can take advantage of the new rule which allows the emergency quarterback to get called up from the practice squad an unlimited amount of times. Brett Rypien will essentially be on the roster without counting all season as long as not other teams decides to sign him.

Bagent beat him out with his play, but he also has not been in the league as long as Rypien and would have to clear waivers.

Running back (6): DeAndre Swift, Khalil Herbert, Roschon Johnson, Travis Homer, Velus Jones Jr., Khari Blasingame

This is a deep running back room, but the Bears end up light in other areas because of this. Velus Jones makes it as a running back, which allows them to add one less wide receiver into the mix.

Khari Blasingame's position as a fullback allows them to get a bit more thin at the tight end position. Then, you have your four typical running backs: Swift, Herbert, Johnson, and Homer. Homer has worked with Caleb Williams often due to Johnson's injury. This, plus special teams value, should make Homer a lock.
