Chicago Bears Round 2 | Pick 35: Dawand Jones, OT

Since the Bears had one of the worst pass-blocking offensive lines in football, it is important to retool this offensive line and build it from the ground up. What's a better foundation than one of the biggest offensive tackles to enter the Senior Bowl?

Dawand Jones played opposite of projected first-round pick left tackle, Paris Johnson, and Jones didn't get the love early on that Johnson did -- until the Senior Bowl. Jones came into the Senior Bowl with the longest wingspan ever recorded. With that, he posted the following measurements: 6' 8", 375 pounds. Despite all of that size, Jones can move fairly quickly. Jones has all the attributes to be an elite right tackle in the NFL with his power, size, and solid athleticism.

The Bears had a massive hole at right tackle this season, and Jones can fill that hole immediately. With Braxton Jones locking up the left side for the future, it would be worrisome to have two young offensive tackles immediately. Although Dawand Jones is ready to start immediately, the Bears should still target a veteran swing tackle in the case these two cannot hold it down immediately.
