Caleb Williams' first game as the starting quarterback of the Chicago Bears will be at the NFL Hall of Fame.

The NFL announced on Tuesday that the Chicago Bears will play the Houston Texans on August 1 in the annual Hall of Fame game.

The Chicago Bears will be playing the Houston Texans in the NFL's Hall of Fame game this summer.

The Hall of Fame game serves as the opening of Hall of Fame weekend for the NFL as the league convenes in Canton, Ohio for the ceremony that following Saturday. The 2024 NFL Hall of Fame class includes three former Bears players--Devin Hester, Steve McMichael, and Julius Peppers.

As soon as the Hall of Fame class was announced at the NFL Honors ceremony in February, the expectation was that the Bears would be one of the teams playing in the Hall of Fame game.

There is no doubt that there will be excitement to see the new look Bears this Pre-season.

Backed by the additions of running back D'Andre Swift, wide receiver Keenan Allen, and tight end Gerald Everett, there will be a new rookie quarterback replacing Justin Fields as the starting quarterback. The expectation is that the quarterback will be Williams.

In the Hall of Fame game, the Bears will be getting a close look at the team they hope to emulate during the 2024 season.

The hope for the Bears is that Williams will have the same type of success that Texans' quarterback CJ Stroud had during his rookie season in 2023. Stroud passed for 4,108 yards during the 2023 season to go along with 23 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. In terms of what the ceiling of expectation will be for Williams' rookie season with the Bears, Stroud provided the blueprint.
