Chicago Bears Draft Target: Broderick Jones, OT - Georgia

The last offensive lineman I find worthy of the ninth-overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft is Broderick Jones. Jones might have the most upside between him and Paris Johnson. Both have the ability to bend and hold on pass blocks in a way I don't see from Peter Skoronski. However, Jones does not have the experience that Johnson does. Jones only has 19 starts. He has some technical issues and isn't as fluid of a mover as Johnson or Skoronski. However, with more experience and NFL coaching, he could develop into an elite left or right tackle.

Jones does not have the size and length that Paris Johnson has, but isn't small at 6'5" and 315 pounds. He has 34-3/4" long arms and fits the prototypical stereotype of an offensive tackle. Like Johnson and Skoronski, Jones is a finisher. He doesn't quit until the play is over. He too could have some issues with late penalties at the NFL level. However, this type of playstyle is what Ryan Poles seems to want from his offensive line.

For any fans who want to see Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears address the offensive line early, these three are the top prospects to consider. Again, should they move back, there are other options -- mostly suited to play right tackle. However, offensive line is not the only path forward for the Bears should they stay at nine.
