The Chicago Bears are now 1-1 in the preseason as the team fell to the Indianapolis Colts 24-17 on Saturday. The team has a little bit of time left to make a decision about the current roster, but if I were Matt Eberflus, I'd already be making some key changes to the depth chart. August 29 is the deadline for teams to cut the roster down from 90 players to 53. This is a slight difference from previous years when teams had to abide by multiple cut-down days. This year, teams have to make all of their cuts on or prior to the deadline. For some teams, going from 90 players to 53 will not be easy.

When we look at the Chicago Bears roster this year compared to last year, there are some positions with serious depth. When you have a guy like Trevis Gipson at the backend of the roster, a player who had seven sacks just two seasons ago and led your line with three sacks last year, you know you have depth. Gipson might not even make the final 53 after he fell off considerably production-wise from the Bears' preseason opener.

Let's take a look at some major changes the Chicago Bears should make to their depth chart prior to the Week 3 preseason game vs the Bills.

Trevis Gipson should not be the last defensive end on the Chicago Bears

Despite barely showing up on the stat sheet, Trevis Gipson should not be at the very tail end of the Bears' depth chart. I'm not saying he should be a lock to make the team, but I am putting him ahead of the UDFAs D'Anthony Jones and Jalen Harris. Jones had a nice game vs the Colts, but Harris was ejected for taking a swing at a Colts player. If it were up to me, I'd be pitting Gipson and Rasheem Green against one another to see if either deserves to make the final roster.

While we are talking about the defensive ends, it's time to move Terrell Lewis up to DE3 behind Yannick Ngakoue and DeMarcus Walker.
