The Chicago Bears set their first depth chart, but the upcoming weeks will really tell us who is in and out of the roster and who is up and down on the depth chart. The Bears edge rusher group still has plenty to be sorted out, and the first preseason game will give us a great look into how they stack up.

These four edge rushers have a lot to gain over the coming weeks.

4. Did Dominique Robinson improve in year two with the Chicago Bears?

Dominique Robinson is coming off of a 1.5-sack rookie season, and all of that came in week one. Now, he is looking to show serious improvement. It is totally possible for someone like Robinson, when you consider he was a wide receiver just a few years ago;

He is still new to being an edge rusher, and the Bears drafted him knowing that this was always a long play and not a short-term fix. So, having a poor rookie season was expected, but jumping up in year two also should be in the plans.

For Robinson, the key is consistency. We know that he has the athletic tools, and we know that he can finish sacks. Can he stay in the play on every down, and can he work in more pass-rushing moves? Beyond that, he was quick to jump out of his lane in the run game, allowing cutbacks and letting the edge remain weak. Did he gain strength? Does he understand the intricacies of the NFL more?

Last year he played because they had no one else. This year he has to earn the time.
