The Chicago Bears are looking for a lot of breakout years from a lot of performers in 2023. That is what will typically happen when a young team is set to come together at the right time and hit their peak. So, this is a team with many candidates to take that step and make the Pro Bowl for the first time.

Who are the five most likely players to make that jump?

5. The Chicago Bears could get the best year from Jaylon Johnson

Jaylon Johnson is right on the verge of being the type of player who gets Pro Bowl nods, but he has not. That is probably what has held up his negotiations for a new contract. Still, that only makes this a bigger season for Johnson. If he signs a deal, it is time to live up to it, but if not, he can make a lot of money by playing well this year.

Johnson has been close, but there are a few things that hold him back. He is better in zone, he does not play in the slot, or follow wideouts around, and he lacks interceptions. However, he does get his hand on the ball a lot, and he breaks up plenty of passes. He just does not convert those into picks.

So, even if his coverage in man improved slightly, or if he was used in zone better, those things could be enough to push him into the Pro Bowl if the interceptions start to come. For Johnson, with the way he plays on the ball, they could come in bunches. If that is the case, he will surely make the Pro Bowl.
