2. Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina

Allow me to be the first to say that the Bears should absolutely stick with Justin Fields for 2024. But, if they don't get their hands on Caleb Williams and want to move on, then Drake Maye is the next-best thing.

Maye, like Williams, is having somewhat of a down year by comparison to what he did last season. Still, he's the second-best quarterback prospect and is a sure bet to go top-two.

Maye is your prototypical, well-built quarterback standing 6-foot-4 and weighing in at 230 pounds. At first glance, it's easy to see that he has excellent mobility in the pocket and one heck of a cannon arm. That's what you look for in an NFL quarterback, right off the bat. Can you make all the throws? Can you evade pressure?

Check.

One area we've wanted to see Fields improve upon is his anticipation. Maye does this well. He trusts his wide receivers and throws them open, anticipating their breaks successfully.

if the Bears want to start over at quarterback and select a guy who gives them a whole lot of Justin Herbert vibes, then Maye is your guy.
