The Right Choice: Chicago Bears 5- Round Mock Draft Solidifies Commitment to Justin Fields
By Ryan Heckman
The Bears briefly break from building the trenches in order to take arguably the second-best wide receiver in this draft class, Malik Nabers out of LSU. Chicago's wide receiver room already includes D.J. Moore and hopefully they can re-sign Darnell Mooney, giving the team a continuous one-two punch.
With Tyler Scott returning, the Bears now have four young and talented wideouts to count on the next few years. Nabers stands six feet tall, weighing 200 pounds and brings top-end speed and leaping ability to the position. Nabers' athleticism is off the charts and he's quite fun to watch on those 50-50 balls.
This season so far, Nabers has caught 72 passes for well over 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns, putting himself firmly cemented into a top-12 type of talent. Alongside D.J. Moore, Nabers should be able to leapfrog Mooney as the team's WR2 sooner rather than later. But, that only makes things easier on Justin Fields, who has by far the best weaponry he's had as a pro.
