4 former Bears who are still having trouble finding jobs

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise to Bears fans, but former starting free safety Eddie Jackson is still a free agent. Jackson spent the first seven years of his career in Chicago afeter the Bears selected him in the fourth round back in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Jackson, of course, burst onto the scene and became one of the best safeties in football, in a hurry. He was a takeaway machine and seemingly always a threat to score when he had the ball in his hands. You could make an argument that, at times, he was one of the more exciting players the Bears had seen on the team since Devin Hester.
After Jackson received his hefty contract extension, though, his play almost immediately took a downward turn. His tackling became lackluster, with the effort simply not being good enough. He was beaten in coverage on a regular basis, allowing plays to go behind him consistently.
In an offseason that's seen the veteran safety market oversaturated, Jackson is still out there trying to find his next gig. He probably won't be jobless come the start of the season, but the days of Jackson being a starting safety in this league might just be over.
