4 former Bears players who just missed the start of the Caleb Williams era
By Ryan Heckman
3. Allen Robinson, WR
When the Bears signed Allen Robinson back in 2018, fans were excited about the possibilities. Three years into his stint with Chicago, Robinson looked like he was continuing to excel more and more, despite up-and-down quarterback play.
But in Year 4, the effort dropped off significantly. Robinson seemed tired of subpar offensive outputs and poor quarterback play. Since that last year in Chicago, his career has taken quite the downward turn. One has to wonder what would have happened had the Bears found better quarterback play prior to the downtick from Robinson.
Should Robinson's prime years with the Bears had come just a few years later, he'd have the type of quarterback play he's longed for. Unfortunately, his time with Chicago ended three years too soon. Now, he's 30 years old, a free agent and just waiting for his next opportunity. Tough scene.
