6 XFL Players to keep an eye on for the Chicago Bears this offseason
Could the Chicago Bears bring back Michael Joseph?
Michael Joseph, DB - D.C. Defenders
Do you remember the name Michael Joseph? Josheph was an undrafted free agent out of Dubuque. Chicago brought him into camp in 2018 and he bounced back and forth between the practice squad and being waived. He finally saw regular-season action in 2021. He only played three snaps on defense and six on special teams. He has some solid size though at 6'0" and 195 pounds.
When we look at the defensive backfield, the Chicago Bears could use some depth. The starters are somewhat set with Eddie Jackson, Jaquan Brisker, Kyler Gordon and Jaylon Johnson. However, the team needs a third option for the nickel and depth behind the starters. I don't think Joseph can be that third option, but he could be brought in this offseason to compete for a depth spot.
Michael Joseph is nearly 28 years old and he made a huge impact for the D.C. Defenders in his first XFL game of the 2023 season. He helped the Defenders rally with two interceptions - including a 15-yard touchdown return. If Joseph keeps this type of play up this season, then NFL teams, including the Bears, should be looking at giving him another shot.
