Here are a few other notable mentions the Chicago Bears should watch

Tim Ward, DE - Houston Roughnecks

We know the Chicago Bears need help on the defensive line. Maybe Tim Ward could be a depth piece. He played college ball at Old Dominion and is currently 25 years old. He's a huge specimen at 6'6" and 255 pounds. He spent time with the Jets in 2021 and was brought into the league by Ryan Poles' former team the Chiefs in 2020. He also spent time on the Packers' pratice squad in 2022. In his first XFL game, Ward finished with two sacks. If nothing else, he could be a camp body.

Trent Harris, OLB - Houston Roughnecks

Even though he isn't a scheme fit, the Chicago Bears and other NFL teams should be watching Trent Harris closely. Harris played college ball for Miami and went undrafted. He's 27 years old and spent time playing as a defensive tackle for the Giants and Dolphins. He has two total sacks in three NFL seasons and started five games. He has proven he can play special teams as well. Harris has also spent time on the Ravens, Raiders and the Patriots practice squads. In his first game of the 2023 season, he set an XFL record with four sacks. I guarantee he's on NFL teams' radars.

Sal Cannella, TE - Arlington Renegades

Another player who stood out in the first week of the XFL season was Sal Cannella. Cannella caught seven passes for 70 yards. He was a USFL standout and looks to be making his mark now on the XFL. Cannella never amounted to much statistiacally at Auburn. He played three years and only finished with 25 catches for 330 yards and five touchdowns. His size though is something to consider at 6'6" and 230 pounds. He was given an opportunity with Green Bay last year, but he never amounted to anything.

Should the Bears consider any of these former Packers?. dark. Next
