Chicago Bears Free Agent Target: Kenny Golladay, WR

Another player the Chicago Bears could want to bring home to Chicago is Kenny Golladay. I know what you are all saying. Did you not watch Golladay over the last two years? Look, I get it. However, there is no harm in bringing Golladay in for training camp and seeing if he has anything left in the tank. Maybe a change in scenery and coming back home to Chicago is what he needs.

Golladay is a Northern Illinois alumn and before a hip injury derailed his 2020 season, he was viewed as a top-15 WR in the league. He finished with over 1,000 yards in both 2018 (1,063) and 2019 (1,190). He snagged 11 touchdowns in 2019 as well. Even in 2020, Golladay was on pace for over 1,000 receiving yards and at least seven touchdowns. Detroit did not bring Golladay back though in 2021 and he moved on to the New York Giants. It was actually rumored that the Chicago Bears were interested in signing Golladay that offseason, but Golladay chose more money with the Giants.

Things did not go well for Golladay in New York though. Over two years, he started 18 games, playing in 28, and only caught one touchdown while gaining a total of 602 yards. I'm not sold on Kenny Golladay fitting in well with the HITS principle, but if he can prove he wants to fight for his NFL future, the 29-year-old wide receiver could be a great addition to the back end of the roster.
