Chicago Bears Free Agency: Frank Clark, DE

Frank Clark and the Bears seem like a weird fit because it is. Clark is now 30, coming off a Super Bowl run with the Chiefs. The Bears are on the opposite side of the spectrum, finishing 2022 with a league-worst record of 3-14.

But the later we get into the offseason, the more willing teams and players are to compromise. As mentioned before, the Bears desperately need some semblance of a pass rush in 2023. Even if Clark is passed his prime,  he could still contribute to the Chicago Bears.

It’s hard to know exactly what Clark is looking for at this stage of his career. He’s a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl Champion. He could take a cheaper contract to stick with a contender, but if that’s what he was looking for, he probably would have already re-signed with the Chiefs.

If Clark is looking to maximize his playing time, there won’t be many better options than Chicago. A one or two-year deal would provide the Bears with a much-needed jolt defensively and Clark the chance to show the league he still has it before hitting free agency again.
