Teddy Bridgewater, QB

The Bears might just benefit from keeping three quarterbacks on the final roster come the end of camp and preseason. Last year, all three of their quarterbacks ended up getting some action due to injuries to Fields and Trevor Siemian, with Nathan Peterman taking on the third string role.

If we are talking about helping Fields, then there might be no better backup quarterback available than Teddy Bridgewater. Sure, the Bears have P.J. Walker whom they signed to be the backup, but if they carried three quarterbacks, Walker would be a fantastic third string quarterback. Bridgewater would bring a lot to the table, too.

As a former starter and someone who has been able to win games in a pinch, Bridgewater would be able to do just that if Fields ever went down to injury again. Being able to throw Peterman to the waivers would be beneficial, too, because fans don't ever want to see him have to play again. Last season's showing was enough.

The most important aspect of bringing in a guy like Bridgewater is, hands down, his leadership skills and ability to mentor someone like Fields. We already know Fields is a moldable, coachable and humble player. Bridgewater would have a major, positive impact on Fields' overall development.
