Yannick Ngakoue, EDGE

This might throw you off at first, but I promise, it makes sense. Signing Yannick Ngakoue would fill the Bears' biggest gaping hole within this roster, right now. But, this move will also allow the defense to be on the field less.

Chicago doesn't have a premier pass rusher. They don't even have a guy you can feel confident in getting close to double-digit sacks this coming season. But, Ngakoue can be that guy for the Bears. And, if this defense gets an above-average pass rusher, then most fans would feel like the unit is finally complete.

Ngakoue gets to the quarterback about as consistently as any other pass rusher over the last few seasons. He won't give you that monstrous, 15-sack type of season. But, he's finished with 10.0 and 12.5 during two different seasons and still hasn't finished a single year below 8.0 sacks.

This defense needs someone who gets to the quarterback, and thus propels the offense to more possessions each game. A consistent pass rusher could end up being one of Fields' best friends, especially in crucial game moments and on lengthier third down situations.
