The debate regarding what the Chicago Bears should do with the first overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft has jumped the shark.

It's one of the reasons why current Bears' starting quarterback Justin Fields confirmed that he unfollowed the team and the NFL on Instagram. The debate regarding whether the Bears should move forward with Fields or select Caleb Wiliams with the first overall selection in the upcoming draft has become exhausting.

Rather than listen to actual NFL insiders and reporters who continue to strongly hint at the Bears moving on from Fields and selecting a quarterback with the first overall pick, fans choose to believe sleuth users on social media who fall for the banana in the tailpipe with baseless social media reporting.

One reporter who has been steadfast in his reporting that the Bears will be moving on from Fields is Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. Biggs has once against hinted that the Bears are no longer debating whether or not to keep Fields as that decision has been made.

"From my perspective, there is no internal debate in which the Bears are kicking around the idea of keeping Justin Fields versus drafting a quarterback. I believe the work being done is to determine which quarterback they should select. So the whole Fields versus Caleb Williams debate is a pointless exercise."

Biggs is one the most plugged-in reporters at Halas Hall, when he goes as far as to say a decision has been made, it's a safe bet to say that he is on the right path. No matter the thoughtless exercises that some on the national level are having concerning the Bears' decision, the simplest solution remains the most likely solution and that is the team addressing their need at quarterback with Williams.

With the Scouting Combine next week, there is clarity expected regarding what the Bears will do. It was at the Scouting Combine last year that is became clear the Bears were going to trade the top spot in the 2023 NFL Draft. The reverse will likely be true this year with a Fields' trade being all but confirmed.
