3. Kyler Gordon may see his role reduced for the Chicago Bears

Yes, Kyler Gordon will not have the same drop as Kindle Vildor in this experience. However, it has to be telling that the Chicago Bears' second-round pick last season is now potentially competing to be one of the top two cornerbacks.

As we noted, the team will primarily run nickel sets, so this is a small sidebar. However, when they go with just two cornerbacks, which will happen about 20-30% of the time, the question becomes, who will be out there?

We know for sure that Jaylon Johnson will be out there. The question is will Kyler Gordon? Last year, Gordon played outside, then in nickel would slide inside. That is to keep Vildor off the field. Now that Stevenson is in the mix you have to think that he will be a better option to stay outside, even with two corners.

Fans are thinking that this may affect Johnson in the long term, but Ryan Poles said he plans to look into an extension this offseason. This pick may end up speaking more of Gordon than some think.

Gordon was awful last season. It is easy to blame the pass rush, but if you watch the tape he looked overwhelmed far too often. Maybe asking him to play both spots was too much. Maybe this year the Chicago Bears will end up keeping him in the slot full-time.
