8 major changes the Chicago Bears need to make
By Ryan Heckman
4. Fire Matt Eberflus
Look, back when the Bears hired Matt Eberflus, I had my doubts early on. Why hire a defensive-minded coach when you're an organization trying to develop a potential franchise quarterback in Justin Fields? The league is an offensive league now, and the Bears refused to go that route.
But, Eberflus said a lot of the right things. And, I truly believe he is a great person and has some fantastic values as a coach. Being a military man and a coach who loves his players deeply goes a long way. He has preached hard work since day one. He's preached a lot of the right things since day one.
Unfortunately, this team is maybe even playing at a worse level than they were when Eberflus was hired. The offense has made no progress. The defense has taken steps back, even after adding a good chunk of talent and new blood on that side of the ball. Unfortunately for Eberflus, he has to go. The Bears need to start over, once again.
