The Chicago Bears need to put Matt Eberflus on the hot seat

Finally, the man who is in charge needs to go. Alright, maybe not go yet, but his seat better be boiling at this point. I was never high on Matt Eberflus during the hiring process. I wanted an offensive-minded coach. Brian Daboll was my top choice, but there were a few others. I'm not putting Ryan Poles on the hot seat yet, but his very first decision is looking like it might be his worst — hiring Matt Eberflus.

Eberflus came in here pushing his H.I.T.S. principles but it appears that the current roster, outside a few, is not buying in. The first two letters stand for hustle and intensity. We have not seen enough of that this season. The team is on pace for under 10 sacks total on the year. Turnovers (the Ball) is the third letter and the Bears are not winning that battle at all. The team currently has a -4 turnover differential.

The final letter stands for Smarts. Well, we haven't seen enough smarts at any level on this team. The offense is struggling. The defense is struggling. Only the special teams unit looks solid. Matt Eberflus is in charge of everything and if we continue to see this team play unprepared football that is lacking fundamentals and basics, then Matt Eberflus will not last long. For me, he is definitely on the hot seat. Unfortunately, I'm afraid Ryan Poles doesn't fully agree.
