The 2023 NFL Draft will be here before you know it. The Chicago Bears have already set the draft world on fire with their trade from first overall down to nine. Ryan Poles worked his magic and sent the first-overall pick to the Carolina Panthers for nine, 61, a 2024 first-round pick, a 2025 second-round pick and the icing on the cake, D.J. Moore. Some, like Marc Ryan of The Fan Upstate, would say that Ryan Poles fleeced the Panthers. You cannot expect everyone to be happy though as some fans are still down on Poles thanks to last season.

As a general manager of a football organization looking to tear things down and rebuild, Poles did right by this team. Not every move a GM makes will work out. When Poles made the trade for Chase Claypool, the team was actually "in the hunt" for a playoff spot. That quickly changed obviously, but the move made some sense on paper -- especially after seeing what was available via free agency. At that time, Poles obviously did not know the team would own the first-overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft nor would he know he'd land D.J. Moore.

Who are analyts projecting to the Chicago Bears at nine?

Some of his free agency signings are head scratchers too, but when you look at how everything worked out, those moves probably helped this team secure the top pick and most aren't even under contract this offseason. The somewhat easy part of tearing things down is over, but now it is up to Ryan Poles to prove he can build a winning and sustainable franchise. Big free agency moves are in the books, but now it will come down to how he does in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Let's see who analysts believe the Chicago Bears will select at the end of the month.
