Chicago Bears Mock Draft: Ryan Poles makes an unprecedented trade, revamps offense
4.109: Audric Estime, RB - Notre Dame
One of my favorite running back prospects in this year's draft class is Audric Estime. Estime has the ability to be a three-down back — something the Chicago Bears lack right now. Khalil Herbert cannot be counted on in the passing game and Roschon Johnson struggled to maintain his efficiency after his concussion. Can he bounce back in 2024 or not? Either way, the Bears need to add another piece to the running back puzzle. Enter Audric Estime.
One area the Bears struggled with in 2023 was gaining short-yardage. This happened on multiple occasions but hurt the most on more than one fourth-down attempt. The scheme and play-calling weren't the greatest, but adding Estime to the roster should help solve this problem and more. At 5'11" and 225 pounds, Estime has the power to push through for positive yards even with eight to nine guys in the box. He is patient and an underrated pass catcher. The only thing he lacks is long speed. That didn't stop him from dominating for the Fighting Irish.
In 2023, Estime powered through for over 1,300 yards and 18 touchdowns. In 2022, in a less primary role, Estime still gained 920 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. He gained another 135 yards and added another touchdown through the air.
With Drake Maye, Troy Franklin, Zach Frazier, Brenden Rice and now Audric Estime, Ryan Poles is revamping the offense.
