Chicago Bears with big trades mock draft version one
The Last of the Chicago Bears picks
#218 Jack Colletto, FB
#236 Chad Ryland, K
#258 Tim DeMorat, Qb
I finished this mock draft with a full-back to challenge Khari Blasingame. I am still figuring out what else to say about the full-back situation since Matt Nagy used his more than Luke Getsy on offense. Colletto could become a better blocker than Blasingame but has a similar style of play on offense. Ryland was one of NCAA's most accurate kickers. The chatter about Robbie Gould will start kicking up here, but it is time to consider the future. Santos is fine, but bringing in competition is better. And why not bring in one of the better ones instead of a guy we know he could easily beat? Tim DeMorat isn't anything like Justin Fields.
However, remember that Luke Getsy changed the offense to fit Fields better. That offense will be around for a while with PJ Walker as a backup. But most teams don't have either of those two types of quarterbacks on the roster. Having a practice quarterback that fits the traditional style of quarterback is useful. Luke Getsy needs to continue to evolve the offense, so pretending he has a slower quarterback is much easier when he has one on the roster. Also, why not take the best passer from the Patriot league who destroyed records?
