2. The opportunity to let it fly

We all remember how the 2022 season began. New offensive coordinator Luke Getsy seemed frightened, terrified even, to let Fields throw the football. Through three weeks, Fields threw the ball a total of 45 times, never going for more than 17 attempts in a game during that span. It took until Week 6 for Fields to notch over 22 passing attempts in a game.

So far, during training camp, Getsy appears more ready and willing to let Fields throw it on a regular basis, oozing with confidence in his young quarterback.

“It’s fun to be able to talk deeper into the concepts and stuff,” Getsy said. “We’re not talking about the simplicity of what the word means anymore. We’re talking about what the reaction should be. And I think having those next-level conversations with Justin makes everything look like he’s more comfortable with what we’re doing.

"...we’re trying to get a little crazier. We’re trying to have a little bit more fun with things," Getsy followed up.

Fields certainly has a cannon and obviously his legs make things more fun, depending on the play call, so it's about time Getsy is going to allow him to get "crazy." His skill set is perfect for an offense that keeps things fun and creative, so hopefully we see a lot more of that in 2023.
