It is that time of year for every major sports news network to put out NFL draft grades. In reality, grading a draft at this point based on the specific players seems a bit antiquated. We know it takes at least two to three years to know if a draft class worked out well for a team or not. Most general managers are hoping to hit on a handful of their draft picks and the chances of all 10 of the Chicago Bears draft picks becoming legitimate forces in the NFL are slim. That said, it's a fun process, and looking at the thought process itself is just as important when grading these drafts.

I will give my personal opinion on the team's draft after we go through the many well-established sports news outlets. These are ESPN, Bleacher Report, NFL Network and more. Not to say that our opinion here at Bear Goggles On should be viewed any less. I will list out the grades from each outlet and then give a blurb on their reasoning behind the grade.

Chicago Bears Draft Grade: New York Post | B-

The New York Post, written by Ryan Dunleavy, gave the Chicago Bears a B- for their 2023 NFL Draft. This would put the Bears 14 in their NFL Draft grade rankings. However, we should not that two other teams (Buccaneers and Raiders) shared the same overall grade.

Dunleavy listed Darnell Wright, Gervon Dexter, Tyrique Stevens and Zacch Pickens as the key selections for the Chicago Bears. The New York Post does not seem to like the idea that Ryan Poles traded down from No. 1 to No. 9 and then to No. 10 while coming away with two developmental defensive tackles who never saw more than four sacks in a collegiate season.
