Chicago Bears Draft Grade: Pro Football Focus | B+
One site that I think everyone who has read my content knows I am not too fond of us is Pro Football Focus. I have no problem with what they do from a stats perspective -- I'd even say they are above and beyond in that area. Outside of NFL's NextGen stats, Pro Football Focus (PFF) probably has the best advanced stats. The problem is, some of those stats and their grading system are very, very flawed. That's not the point of this though.
Pro Football Focus did not mention the pre-draft trade at all, which is surprising. They did talk about the addition of size to both sides of the trenches despite not loving the picks due to the players being lower in their rankings and grades -- meh.
The biggest reason I think they gave the Chicago Bears a B+ is due to the value of their Day 3 picks. Pro Football Focus speaks to the value of Roschon Johnson, Tyler Scott, and Noah Sewell. PFF also likes the depth addition of Terrell Smith who has been ascending, and they mention how he could shift to safety. He could learn behind Eddie Jackson and Jaquan Brisker.
