Chicago Bears Free-Agent Target: Jayon Brown, LB

The Bears committed a boatload of money to two linebackers this offseason with the additions of Edmunds and Edwards.

However, when you have one of the worst run defenses in the league, it's going to take more than two players to turn things around. Enter Jayon Brown.

Brown has battled injury throughout his NFL career but has shown flashes when healthy. Brown had 105 tackles in 2019 when he played a career-high 14 games. Unfortunately, Brown has only played 18 games over the previous two seasons. However, the Bears would only need Brown for depth and to come in to spell Edmunds or Edwards. Currently, the Bears have Sterling Weatherford, Dylan Cole, and rookie Noah Sewell as backup linebackers. An injury to Sanborn, Edmunds, or Edwards would therefore be devastating.

Adding Brown on a one-year prove-it deal could help Brown recoup some value and help improve the Bears' depth.
