Draft Combination No. 5: QB Caleb Williams and EDGE Dallas Turner
Finally, maybe some fans' ideal scenario would be if the Bears drafted Caleb Williams first overall and then went with the best pass rusher at no. 5. It wouldn't be a first round I could fault them for, either.
Williams might have some question marks due to his team's losing this season, but let's not overreact. This kid is still the real deal. In 10 games this year, he's passed for over 3,200 yards, 29 touchdowns and just four picks. He's also rushed for a career-best 11 touchdowns thus far.
Williams can make some of the most precise throws, on the run, with the flick of his wrist, a la Patrick Mahomes. He throws with anticipation. He's got everything you want in a pro quarterback, and you'd be foolish to buy into the fact that some believe Maye is the better prospect.
Then, the Bears go Turner here again like they did previously. They'd trade Fields, and hopefully use one of those picks on another quality wide receiver. From there, it's officially a new era in Chicago behind Williams.
