1. T.J. Edwards cannot be an issue for the Chicago Bears

One of the three players on the Chicago Bears' defense who were graded out lower than DeMarcus Walker was TJ Edwards. Edwards was looked at as a value signing, at least in comparison with Tremaine Edmunds. Still, the money invested in Edmunds, and the role that Edwards has as the number two meant that they needed a huge season from him.

Unfortunately, we saw him struggle. He allowed 79 yards in coverage, with 50 coming after the catch. He allowed a 37-yard touchdown to Aaron Jones, where he was burnt clean off of the line. Yes, Edwards is in a tough spot on that snap. However, Edwards was one of the best coverage linebackers in the NFL last year, and the entire reason the Bears signed him was to make plays in those situaitons. He came up short.

The Chicago Bears need so much more from Edwards. To be fair, he will not see Aaron Jones every week, and Rachaad White should be an easier matchup. At the same time, now he does not have the Eagles' defensive line to protect him. Does that make a real difference? We will see if Edwards was a product of his system or not very soon.
