1. Chicago Bears could have spent more on offensive line
This has been the theme of the entire post, but you just thought that the Chicago Bears would do a little bit more to improve the depth of the offensive line. Yes, they added Darnell Wright and Nate Davis, and both of them are great signings. Still, we have already noted that center is a question.
However, at least center has depth. Ja'Tyre Carter was starting at guard because Nate Davis was OTA. They are still not far from red alert status. Beyond that, at tackle, the backups are pretty much set as Larry Boorm and Alex Leatherwood. Borom is probably fine as depth, but a day-three pick, or a depth signing would not have hurt. Leatherwood has been a complete bust, and even his limited time with the Chicago Bears went awful. They are still just a bit too close to needing Leatherwood for my liking.
As noted, this would not have meant going all out to make a splash move. Guys like Roschon Johnson, Tyler Scott, Terell Smith, and Noah Sewell all are fine picks, but if one of them went to the offensive line, it would not hurt.
We noted the guys after Sewell, but the Bears traded away from Nick Saldiveri for Roschon Johnson. Even Sidy Sow, Carter Warren, and Braden Daniels went right after Johnson. Asim Richards and Warren McClendon went right after Terell Smith, and Antonio Mafi went after Tyler Scott.
We noted the interior names that the Bears passed on, but even someone like Calvin Anderson could have been a nice depth add to push the tackles on the roster. The Chicago Bears appear to like their starting five, and they feel good enough about the depth at center to move forward. However, a few more moves to make the offensive line feel as deep as the linebacker room would not have hurt anyone's feelings.
