4 players on the Bears 53-man roster who won't last the 2023 season

The roster is set, for now, but some players won't make it through the season

2. Khalid Kareem, DE

Maybe the most controversial position on this Bears roster, after all of the cuts, is at defensive end. Chicago opted to part with Trevis Gipson, who had an outstanding preseason. Gipson wound up signing with the Tennessee Titans after being cut by the Bears, and that should come as no surprise. He wasn't going to be out of a job for long.

The Bears also put in a claim for former Colts defensive end Khalid Kareem, and in turn decided to cut Terrell Lewis to make room. Lewis was another player who had a phenomenal preseason, along with Gipson. Now, both of them are suddenly gone.

The Bears are banking on Rasheem Green, Dominique Robinson and Kareem instead of Gipson and Lewis, and quite frankly, I'm not too confident in that decision by the team.

Kareem has only posted one career sack, having appeared in 27 career games with just one start. His tape is uninspiring, and once the Bears get sick of seeing him unable to generate a real pass rush, I'm certain his time will expire in Chicago. Maybe a move for another veteran pass rusher is in store, whether it be via free agency or trade. But, Kareem should not last long on this roster.
