3. Velus Jones Jr., WR/KR

Some fans want to give Velus Jones Jr. another chance, but the fact is, he has not held up to his draft stock. As a third-round pick last year, Jones struggled. He muffed multiple return opportunities resulting in fumbles. He came into the NFL as an older rookie with just one real college season at wide receiver.

In short, the pick was a question mark from the get-go. Poles took a risk by drafting Jones, and thus far, it hasn't paid off. Even this preseason, Jones muffed another return opportunity, resulting in turning the football over.

The Bears brought in Trent Taylor to handle punt return duties, and they have someone like Tyler Scott who could also assist in the return game. Even Travis Homer is a good option to help out, there, too.

At receiver, the Bears have plenty of talent between D.J. Moore, Darnell Mooney, Chase Claypool and Scott. Jones simply doesn't have a role carved out on offense, and he is a liability on special teams. One more costly mistake, and I could see Jones getting the boot. He should be on a short leash.
