7. Yannick Ngakoue, DE
Speaking of rushing the passer, the Bears thought they were getting a legitimate no. 1 pass rusher when they signed veteran Yannick Ngakoue right before the season. Fans had clamored for this specific signing for months prior, and it had finally happened.
Fast forward to present day, and Ngakoue really hasn't done a whole lot for this defense. It's funny saying that, because the unit has improved quite a bit in recent weeks. But, Ngakoue has been pretty bad overall, this season. He is pacing for a career-worst in sacks with just 3.0 on the season as we speak.
Ngakoue has never been a stout run defender, either, but on a defense that's been very good against the ground game on a yards-per-carry basis, Ngakoue isn't one to be credited for that. He's actually been awful against the run this season.
Like the aforementioned Jones, Ngakoue should not be part of this team's future plans up front. Chicago needs to go a different direction and draft some younger guys, especially early on in the draft.
