One Bears player on the roster bubble at each position
By Ryan Heckman
Wide Receiver: Dante Pettis
A lot of people wonder whether or not the Bears are done adding to the wide receiver position. D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze are a heck of a trio -- maybe even the league's best trio. But, behind them are Tyler Scott, Velus Jones Jr. and Dante Pettis.
Entering his third season in Chicago, Pettis is definitely replaceable, should the Bears find another veteran to bring in. The depth from 4-6 is questionable, at best, and Chicago might serve themselves well by adding there.
Offensive Line: Larry Borom
After drafting tackle Kiran Amegadjie in the third round, the Bears now have three fairly-capable players at the position, with Darnell Wright being the firm starter. Amegadjie and Braxton Jones will probably compete for the other starting gig, but Larry Borom is comfortably fourth on the depth chart. If the Bears get more out of veterans Jake Curhan and Aviante Collins this offseason, Borom could be in danger.
Tight End: Stephen Carlson
The tight end position is loaded with talent at one and two, with Cole Kmet and Gerald Everett. But, veteran Stephen Carlson and undrafted free agent Brenden Bates will battle it out for the third spot. This might also be a position the Bears look at adding to via veteran free agency, but neither Carlson nor Bates are safe going forward.
