5. These two offensive lineman caused trouble for the Chicago Bears

Two offensive linemen caused nothing but trouble for the Chicago Bears in 2023. You know exactly who I am talking about as well. Cody Whitehair and Lucas Patrick should have been gone before the season. We were writing articles about the team moving on and them not being missed this year, and somehow, both of them were back. They did the same thing as in 2022, which was easily predicted.

First, an injury to Teven Jenkins forced Cody Whitehair to go from left guard to center and back to left guard all in one offseason. That did not help the aging Whitehair, who clearly has not been his old self in a couple of years.

This forced Patrick to go from a backup to the starter, a scenario Bears fans were concerned about from this time last year through week 17. Patrick was an issue for most of the year.

Now, Patrick will be a free agent, and the odds of him returning are slim to none. Whitehair will save the team over $9M if he gets let go this offseason, which seems obvious at this point. The Bears do not even have a center, but it is hard to say that they will get worse than the duo they had upfront last year.
