The Chicago Bears took home a preseason victory in their first exhibition of the year last Saturday, defeating the Tennessee Titans 23-17.

It was a mostly-positive afternoon for the Bears, who saw a lot of good things from many different players on the roster. Of course, Justin Fields' 3-for-3 performance was a major highlight, as he tossed two 50-plus yard touchdowns.

But, other players stepped up that needed to do so, and it was a welcomed sight.

Heading into Preseason Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts, the game matters for several players. But, we're going to highlight just four, in particular, and dig into why this game, and maybe even Preseason Week 3, will matter.

Why Preseason Week 2 matters for guard Nate Davis

Nate Davis didn't play against the Titans due to being out with injury, but he returned to practice this week and can hopefully suit up Saturday against the Colts.

Ja'Tyre Carter played extremely well against the Titans in Davis' place, and while there isn't necessarily a competition between he and Davis, it's worth noting how well the second-year pro played. Davis has spent some time on the sidelines since signing with the Bears, and fans are growing tired of seeing him hurt.

Davis was supposed to solidify his spot on the line, being an especially good pass blocker, and fans want to see him healthy. Fans want to see him play. Hopefully, this game sees Davis not only play but play well. If worse came to worse, Carter seems to be playing his way into a capable backup spot.
