This season, the Chicago Bears are headed more and more toward another rebuild. Although, let's be honest, the current rebuild never seemed to get off the ground.
It's like a never-ending rebuild in Chicago, and at the moment, there are a lot of things up in the air. Head coach Matt Eberflus will likely be gone in 2024 and Ryan Poles will bring in a new staff. That new staff might also come with a new quarterback, too.
If you were to tell me before this season began that the Bears could move on from Justin Fields after 2023, I would've thought you were crazy. But, it seems like the Bears moving on from Fields is a very real possibility.
With so many question marks, let's look at a bunch of quarterbacks the Bears could have under center next year, starting with just a couple of veterans.
1. Teddy Bridgewater
These first few aren't the best options, but here's the scenario: if the Bears draft a quarterback and also bring in a free agent veteran, there is a chance that a veteran would at least start the season. If that were to happen, there are a couple veterans who will be free agents that make some sense, with the first being Teddy Bridgewater.
With a ton of starting experience and known as arguably the best backup in football, Bridgewater brings a steady presence and is a guy that, at the very least, wouldn't be the reason Chicago loses games.
2. Jameis Winston
Another free agent option is Jameis Winston, the former Bucs quarterback and current New Orleans Saints backup. Winston is one of those fearless types who slings the football with reckless disregard. He's got a killer arm, but has struggled with decision-making over the years. Winston isn't a prime option, but he would at least be able to run one of today's offenses while helping bring along a rookie.
