1. Justin Fields, QB
Of course, the number one player the Bears could choose to trade is current starting quarterback Justin Fields. Now, the likelihood of Chicago trading Fields is very low, but it isn't completely impossible.
Ryan Poles came into the organization after Fields was drafted. This wasn't "his guy" in the first place. Poles will likely get one chance to find his quarterback, if it isn't Fields, before the Bears would decide to fire him.
Trading Fields wouldn't be the end-all, be-all move, though. The Bears would probably have a new head coach and offensive coordinator next year to go with whomever they wind up with under center.
Obviously, one possible team that could trade for Fields is the New York Jets, who have a Super Bowl-ready roster other than their quarterback room. Zach Wilson has not been good enough, and the Jets even went out and signed Trevor Siemian recently. If Fields went to New York, they would be right back in the thick of the AFC competition.
Fields is still young enough and has flashed enough that the Bears could potentially fetch a first-round pick for him. The Jets have their first rounder in 2024, and if the Bears were able to land it, they'd be waltzing into next year's draft with three first-round picks.
