3 reasons Chicago Bears hiring Deion Sanders would change everything

The Chicago Bears would look drastically different next year if they pulled off a Deion Sanders hiring

3. Hiring Sanders would mean the power gets stripped from ownership, for real this time

Looking at the history of this organization, still, we know that men like Ted Phillips and George McCaskey have held a whole lot of power for a long time. They have combined to make several hirings over the years, and every single time, the coaches and general managers they have put into power have not ultimately held much power at all, in the end.

We can listen to the words spoken by McCaskey and Phillips year-in and year-out, but no matter what is said, the fans know what's really going on. Even after Phillips stepped down last year, we knew McCaskey was still going to run the show, no matter what.

Something tells me that if Kevin Warren had a hand in bringing in a head coach like Sanders, he would help old man McCaskey fully understand that this is no longer a team he has any hand in when it comes to football. After all, McCaskey did once admit that he's "not a football guy," yet we know he's been involved in many football decisions.

If Sanders was hired, he would be in charge. It wouldn't even fall on the general manager at that point. With Sanders comes his mentality of power. It's his show; not McCaskey's, not Warren's, and not the front office's.

Maybe, just maybe, that would be a good thing, because the way the Bears have run things, for years, isn't working. Let's allow a Hall of Famer, who has played the game and know's today's athletes, to hold the power.
