A Justin Fields breakout is coming

In the end, the biggest difference in these Bears is going to be due to a true breakout from quarterback Justin Fields. Year 3 in the league, Year 2 in this offense and finally, a competent group of weapons surrounding him... it's time.

Last year, we saw glimpses of what he could do with that cannon arm. Let's not forget, Pro Football Focus graded him as the highest-rated passer beyond the sticks out of his entire draft class. The guy can throw the football. But, we focused more on his damage done on the ground.

Now, with D.J. Moore, Darnell Mooney, Chase Claypool, Tyler Scott, Cole Kmet, Robert Tonyan, D'Onta Foreman, Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson, it's time for Fields to show the world what he's truly capable of. Not to mention, he'll be far better protected in 2023 than he's been to start his career.

Head coach Matt Eberflus said, during the Bears' minicamp practices, that he wants to see the offense take their deep shots because, not only is Fields great at those passes, but they now have plenty of weapons who know how to get open down field.

This offense could end up surprising people, and it will be the biggest reason why the Bears end up over that 7.5 win projection.
