4. P.J. Walker, QB
Finally, backup quarterback P.J. Walker had a rough showing against Tennessee. He doesn't seem to have any issue in terms of keeping the backup quarterback position, but for the sake of knowing he's still capable, I think most would like to see a much better showing against Indianapolis, and hopefully a few more drives.
Against Tennessee, Walker finished just 4-for-8 for 19 yards, no touchdowns, and threw his one interception on his very first pass of the game. That pass was a deep shot intended for Equanimeous St. Brown. While it was a positive to see the Bears take a deep shot, the pass by Walker wasn't even close. It was flat-out bad, and thus picked off.
Behind him is Nathan Peterman, who is a ho-hum backup and probably a better third string quarterback than anything. But even further back is undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent, who came into the league as a college quarterback having thrown over 2,000 passes and completing 70 percent of those passes.
Bagent is an interesting case and I would like to see him challenge Walker for the backup position, although I'm not sure he'll get that opportunity, especially if Walker comes out and plays much better against the Colts on Saturday.
