The countdown until the Chicago Bears take the field is underway, and we are counting down the roster until they return. This list is focusing on which players have the best chance at making the 2023 roster and which players are able to impact games the most.

We are moving along, and now are going from the top-90 down to the top-75 players.

Chicago Bears 2023 roster ranking: No. 75 Kellen Diesch

Kellen Diesch is entering his second season with the Chicago Bears. He was a UDFA from Arizona State last year, and the Miami Dolphins cut him after training camp. He could have circled back to Miami but signed with the Chicago Bears instead. He may have been seeing the open hole at left tackle and thought that was his chance to make a roster.

Diesch spent the year on the practice squad and finished with just 20 preseason snaps, all with the Dolphins. Diesch has some fanfare and is just inside the top-75 for a few reasons. First, he has an elite athletic upside. He has the size and movement ability needed if the tools can come together. More than that, the team hardly has a backup left tackle.

Larry Borom is technically in that role but has been better on the right side. A strong summer could push him up quickly.

On the flip side, Diesch is going to be 26-years old, and he has not taken an NFL snap. He could not get a starting job at Texas A&M and was a 24-year-old senior when he finally won a starting job. Diesch also questions his arm length, as he is taller and thinner but not that long.

So, some fans see a potential left tackle and want to hope that a UDFA can turn into a long-term gem. However, the odds of him making the Chicago Bears' 53-man roster remain low as he enters his second NFL training camp. This will be a great chance for him to make a statement, though, and he will get chances, which is why he is not in the bottom ten.
