Chicago Bears Roster: Ranking the top 5 players under the age of 25

Chicago Bears Top 5 Under 25: No. 5 - Chase Claypool, WR
Sure, the Bears overpaid by trading what ended up being the 32nd pick in this year’s draft to get him, and yes, he probably won’t end up being the game-changer many fans believed he would be after his stellar rookie season; but despite all of that, Chase Claypool is still a solid player and one that won’t turn 25 until after the Fourth of July.
Claypool has the best physical attributes of anyone in Chicago’s receiver room. At 6’4", 238 pounds, he ran a 4.42 40-yard dash at the combine and also recorded a 40.5-inch vertical. This rare combination of size and explosiveness makes Claypool a valuable addition.
It is also worth pointing out that we haven’t seen enough of Claypool in a Bears uniform to really know what he brings to the offense. The addition of former Panther D.J. Moore helps Claypool considerably since he will no longer be viewed by some as the best wideout on the team leading to more favorable matchups.
The Bears gave up a lot, probably too much for Claypool, but he still has the potential to be a weapon for the Bears in 2023.
