Chicago Bears Roster: 5 Strongest position groups heading into 2023

Chicago Bears Position Group No. 1: Safety
The Bears didn’t make any notable moves at safety this offseason, mainly because they didn’t have to. Despite everything that went wrong for Chicago a year ago, it was to no fault of the team’s starting safeties.
Jaquan Brisker was the Bears’ most consistent rookie and made plays in the run and pass game. On the other side of the defense, veteran Eddie Jackson returned to form, recording his highest interception total since 2018.
This tandem is not only good from a talent perspective, but the two also seem to complement each other quite well. Jackson proved he could still be the ball hawk who makes his money in coverage, while Brisker lived up to his draft label as a do-it-all safety.
Safety is the only position where the Bears have multiple bonafide Pro Bowl candidates, and if the team can win a few more games this year, they will only get more attention from the national media.
The reason why I’m confident putting safety at the top of this list is there’s minimal projection involved. Brisker and Jackson have already played alongside each other and played reasonably well. Even if there’s no improvement from either in 2023, safety should still be one of the defense’s strengths.
