3 under-the-radar players on the Chicago Bears roster to still keep an eye on
Chicago Bears fans should keep looking for Isaiah Ford
Most fans are probably hoping to see Daurice Fountain make the final roster. However, fans should also keep an eye on Isaiah Ford. Ford probably won't make the final 53-man roster, but the Chicago Bears could look to try and stash him on the practice squad. Ford was a product out of Virginia Tech and was drafted in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.
Ford has great speed as we have seen already during the first two playoff games. In Week 1 of the preseason, Ford caught one ball for 35 yards. On Saturday, he caught two balls for 31 yards. He has the speed, now he just needs to prove he's worth sticking around. Ford needs to build on his route tree but has some great hands. Throughout his time in the NFL, he has a 64.9% catch rate.
Isaiah Ford will have a tough time making the roster only because the top wide receivers on the roster will not give up their spot to just anyone. I don't know if the Chicago Bears will keep more than six wide receivers. Looking at guys like DJ Moore, Darnell Mooney and Chase Claypool, that does not leave enough room for everyone. Ford will have to really flash if he's going to push the backend of the roster.
