4. A trade for Will Hernandez, G, Cardinals

The Bears' offensive line will continue to be shuffled next offseason as they try and find their long-term starting five up front. Quite possibly the only mainstays, right now, are tackle Darnell Wright and guard Teven Jenkins. Maybe you could argue Braxton Jones, but the way he started the season didn't inspire a whole lot.

One guy the Bears could try and go after is Arizona Cardinals guard Will Hernandez. Through Week 7, Hernandez has been graded positively in both the run game and pass protection by Pro Football Focus. He's a well-rounded veteran who is a plug-and-play type for a team like Chicago; a definite upgrade over Cody Whitehair or Lucas Patrick at this point.

Hernandez trade

I haven't seen much in terms of whispers about Hernandez being available via trade, but at 28 years old, he isn't exactly young. From the Bears' point of view, he's also not on his way out of the league. Hernandez is having a fantastic season thus far, and the Cardinals are a team that could be amidst a true rebuild here, soon.

Hernandez is on a 2-year deal that expires after next season, and the financials are easily absorbed. Next year, his cap number is just over $5 million. If the Bears can land a quality starting guard for that type of money, that's a win.
