Bears Rumors: 5 AFC coaching candidates to replace Matt Eberflus
By Ryan Heckman
4. Bobby Slowik, Offensive Coordinator, Houston Texans
The Bears already tried hiring from the Kyle Shanahan tree once, and they failed. The Luke Getsy offense is no where near as creative as Shanahan's, and thus he needs to go along with Eberflus. But, one guy who comes from Shanahan's tree that is actually succeeding is Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik.
This year's Texans have been one of the biggest surprises and are being led by a rookie quarterback that's taking the league by storm. C.J. Stroud has been flat-out superb as a rookie, elevating those around him in admirable fashion. Slowik's offense is perfect for Stroud, but the rookie quarterback is also throwing a lot of his wide receivers open, similar to what we see from Brock Purdy in San Francisco.
Could Slowik help develop another Ohio State quarterback in Chicago? The Bears could have way better weapons in Chicago next year, compared to Houston, and Slowik might be able to get his hands on both D.J. Moore and Marvin Harrison Jr. Just think of the possibilities.
